I shunned a JW today...
by zeroday ini was walking into an ace hardware store today.
i was about 15 feet from the door when i hear my name called out.
i looked toward the parking lot and here was an elder from my old hall waving and smiling walking toward me.

Share one or two interesting things about you we probably didn't know
by Gopher inwe have such an interesting group of people from around the world on this board.
it might be interesting to have a thread where you discuss a hobby, something interesting that happened in the past, somewhere you've been, etc.. not deep, dark confessions - just interesting stuff.. .
* i have travelled into all 48 american states that are not named alaska or hawaii.. * for the past few years, i have had a slight walking impairment due to a form of arthritis known as ankylosing spondylitis.

Hey Zeroday,
I understand what you are feeling.
I am not sure what I will do, when and if that ever happens to me, but it is a very un-natural and strange practice.
Good for you - if you enjoyed doing that. Don't feel guilty. You have DA'd yourself - he should not be greeting you in public anyway.
Next time, if you see that elder - why not talk to him and tell him what you know regarding the evil nature of the WT World? If he wants to talk - then let him know what you know.
Just an idea.
Peace out, my friend!!

How do you react.....
by restrangled inwhen you see someone needing help in a public place?
i usually avoid eye contact, but then feel guilty all day.
for instance when you pull up to a light and people are standing there with a sign or actually walk up to your window...i won't ever roll down a window.. today i pulled into the local grocery store parking lot, and there standing with a walker, was a middle aged latino man with his lower legs in some sort of braces.

restrangled...
nice job.
Always help strangers unless you have reason to believe they might hurt you or your family...
What you did was great!

Who has been Disfellowshipped or Reproved the most times?
by oompa inmy diehard, hardcore, zealous, door knocking ex-wife has been disfellowshipped three times and reproved twice.
i think that is a lot of suffering for one life.
if it happens again, at least they don't have a name for it......oompa

The Oracle
great question Oompa.
Sadly I have never been reproved or Disfellowshipped although it should have happened several times.
Currently I am a raging Apostate and still serving as an elder doing Circuit Assembly parts.
Go figure????

He kicked some ass.
He got some ass.
He exposed some asses and he freed some minds.
In the final part of the last days he was a tremendous thorn in the side of the anti christ (WT Society) and he lived his life with love in his heart for everyone.

Remember: Every Kingdom Hall Has Dynamite Within
by metatron inallow me to point out that, per the society's regulations, every kingdom hall has a pile of metaphorical dynamite within.
every kingdom hall.
is required to keep judicial files - often going back decades - locked in the kingdom hall.

Usually all the elders have a key, however in some congregations with more sophisticated file locks - only the service committee elders can open it. I have heard of some cabinets that are not locked at all, but the room is locked.
Needless to say it is very easy for all the elders to check out the old judicial files whenever the mood strikes them - and it often does.... especially if that person gets in to any other trouble or is beginning to reach out. The elders may crack open the envelope just to make sure they consider the "big picture"
It really is pretty dumb. Yuck. Elders are generally speaking the worst gossippy, judgemental SOBs I have ever come to know. There are a few good eggs, but the position seems to attract the real a-holes. I guess that isn't much of a newslflash to this board, now is it?

Burgertime,
Are you sure your not a graphic designer...it kind of looks like a very good photoshop job.
Please confirm if this is real. And if so, I'd like to know if you it causes you any trouble - or if you find any advantages to having such an interesting web feature. ie - swimming, etc.
